Resident Evil 4 Remake

Capcom Teases More Resident Evil 4 Remake in a Showcase for Thursday

If the latest from Silent Hill isn’t enough, Capcom is teasing the latest from Resident Evil for the next day. The publisher announced that a Resident Evil showcase stream will take place on October 20, 2022, at 3:00 PM Pacific Time (or October 21, 2022, at 7:00 AM Japan Time). The event will showcase the latest from the franchise, including a look at the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Here’s the announcement Tweet, which features a short teaser clip.

The Resident Evil showcase event has at least two announced titles on the docket: Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Gold Edition is a “complete” single-edition release of Resident Evil Village. It includes the base game; the Winters’ Expansion content, which adds a third-person mode to the base game; the Shadows of Rose story campaign; and The Mercenaries: Additional Orders mode. There’s also the Trauma Pack DLC and access to Resident Evil Re:Verse, a six-player competitive multiplayer mode.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake (formally titled Resident Evil Re:4) was first announced in June 2022 and is scheduled for release in March 2023. It’ll reimagine the story of the GameCube-era classic, and feature redesigns for much of the cast. It’ll appear on Xbox Series X and PC, and on PS5 it’ll have support for PSVR 2.

As for what else Capcom has planned, the details are not yet clear. An entirely new game could be announced for further into the future, or a continuation of the company’s trend of remakes. Further multimedia projects could be in the works, though the Resident Evil Netflix series was canceled.

Capcom’s next Resident Evil showcase will take place on October 20, 2022, at 3:00 PM Pacific Time. It’ll stream via Twitch and YouTube.
