How to Finish the ‘A Young Girl’s Wish’ Octopath Traveler 2 Side Story

A lot of the Octopath Traveler 2 side stories are straightforward. However, every once in a while there’s a multipart endeavor. Partitio’s Scent of Commerce gramophone quest and the “Procuring Peculiar Tomes” side story are two of them. However, I think I’d consider “A Young Girl’s Wish” one of the most potentially frustrating Octopath Traveler 2 ones. So much so that it was only after a friend offered an assist that I stopped losing my mind and found the last part. (Thanks, Chris!)

In “A Young Girl’s Wish” in Octopath Traveler 2, you’re dealing with the Apathetic Girl in Conning Creek. (She’s at the cemetery near Osvald’s former home.) She’s dying and essentially has a bucket list of things she’d like to experience before she goes. Which means you need to make her wishes come true.

To read the sequel to Adventures of an Apprentice Cleric:

This is the part that got me! If you already visited the Cleric Guild in Octopath Traveler 2 before getting this quest, it probably got you too!

This is because the Cleric Novelist NPC with the information doesn’t have the courtesy to be at one of the towns with churches in the game.

No, they needed to be at this tiny, remote church instead. So somebody trying to complete this quest would go to places like Flamechurch, Canalbrine, and Stormhail, sometimes twice, all in the hopes of finding that single bit of information.

Anyways, go to the Cleric Guild at Borderfall during the day. Have Osvald scrutinize the Cleric Novelist. You’ll get the “Adventures of an Apprentice Cleric’s Sequel” information.

To eat a New Delsta Crepe

Go to New Delsta, and walk up the stairs and to the right. You can steal or buy the Deluxe Crepe from the Crepe Maker there. Give it to the Apathetic Girl to fulfill this wish.

To Meet Roland, the Floral Designer

Roland is in Timberain in the Town Square. Use someone who can guide, hire or befriend him to add him to your “party.” I used Partitio, and it cost 19,200 leaves to hire him. Take him to the Apathetic Girl to satisfy this request.

You can give all three items to the Apathetic Girl one after the other at once. Or, you can stop by and give them each as you get them. You’ll then get 15,000 leaves, a Vest of Joy, and Revitalizing Jam for completing “A Young Girl’s Wish” in Octopath Traveler 2.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available.
