All the Fae Farm Characters (and Shops) You Should Know

Fae Farm is sort of a weird game, in that the characters you need to specifically interact with rather than actual shops you’ll visit for certain services, upgrades, and items. Also, it doesn’t have love interest introduction segments, like a game like Story of Seasons. Not to mention Fae Farm doesn’t spell out who is tied to each Job Quest. So, knowing who to talk to can help a lot!

Who are the most important characters (and shops) in Fae Farm?

Due to the way things are organized in Fae Farm, finding the characters or shops you need might get messy! There are a lot of folks who are “important.” But since I encountered a lot of repetitive dialogue or people with no personalities, it made it different to remember who’s who. So, here’s the list of who you might need to keep an eye out for, divided by what they do. This way you can bring up the map (it’s the – button in the Switch version), look for the specific character’s name, select them, and then immediately follow the onscreen indicator to perform whatever task you need.

Fae Farm characters you can romance:

There are six romance options in the game at launch. Phoenix Labs did note that more will be added in eventual updates. Here’s the full list of them. They all live in Azoria proper, though Argyle and Jack will be the only options until you finish chapter three.

  • Argyle
  • Galan
  • Jack
  • Nhamashal
  • Pepper
  • Pyra

Fae Farm characters who offer Job Quests

These are the folks you can visit to get side quests tied to different activities. Note that you must visit one and accept it to “trigger” it. So even if you already complete, say, the mining accomplishments, it won’t count unless you first go talk to Cinder to take the mining mission, then go do it, and return to her.

  • Aspen: Carpenter Job Quests
  • August: Cooking Job Quests
  • Balarandi: Potion Maker Job Quests
  • Drak: Battlemaster Job Quests
  • Cinder: Mining Job Quests
  • Cleo: Island Traveler Job Quests
  • Holly: Farmer Job Quests
  • Mel: Critter Job Quests

Fae Farm characters who offer tool, house, and bag upgrades

There are three folks you need to visit! While Cinder handles all tools that are context sensitive, the bug net and fishing pole have different upgrade paths. In any case, selecting these people lets you quickly get those upgrades done until you remember who they are and where they are.

  • Aspen: House upgrades
  • Cinder: Axe, Pickaxe, Sickle, Shovel, and Watering Can upgrades
  • Eddy: Fishing Rod upgrades
  • Lorimdal: House upgrades
  • Mel: Critter Net upgrades
  • Skye: Bag upgrades

Fae Farm characters who act as shops to sell things you may need

There are a lot of Fae Farm shops! Some of them sell things you really need, like home upgrades, bag upgrades, and seeds. Others sell stuff that might not be as needed in your day to day life, but still are good to know about. Note that some people in the list will need to be unlocked and won’t appear until chapter four and beyond.

  • Asphodel: Crop seeds, flower seeds, and fertilizers
  • Balarandi: Potions and cosmetic items
  • Charles: Cosmetic items
  • Dominic: Flour and butter
  • Earline: Chickoos and Cottontails
  • Eddy: Fish Fillets
  • Emily: Scroll storage and cosmetic items
  • Holly: Crop seeds, fertilizers, and cosmetic items
  • Igni’ Cosmetic items
  • Jeremiah: Mamoos and Woolyhorns
  • Kasper: Teas
  • Loretta: Chickoo and Cottontail breeding
  • Mel: Cosmetic items
  • Millie: Clothes and cosmetic items
  • Patel: Mamoo and Woolyhorn breeding
