Cyberpunk 2077 Next-gen Update Will Arrive After Free DLC

CD Projekt Red issued a statement on video addressing the state of Cyberpunk 2077. Most importantly, it offered a roadmap for 2021. While much of it involved Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski justifying the launch of the game, it also offered an idea of when people might see the promised Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update. However, it will arrive in the latter half of 2021, after the game’s free DLC.

The Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap doesn’t have any dates, but begins with its release on December 10, 2020. It noted that three hotfixes appeared before 2021 began, with patches 1.1 and 1.2 expected to appear in early 2021. Iwinski noted that patch 1.1 “will be dropping within 10 days.” This would mean people should see it by January 23, 2021. 1.2 will arrive “in the following weeks.”

After that, people can expect the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update and add-ons. Iwinski didn’t offer any details about the DLC, like how many will be released. Also, the map only shows the PS5 and Xbox Series X patch will arrive sometime before 2021 ends. The upcoming multiplayer mode isn’t shown on the roadmap or mentioned on the website.

Here is the full video statement.

The website update offers more details about topics like why review copies for PCs and consoles were staggered (to have it in a better state with the day zero patch), what is being done to fix the game (hotfixes and patches), and if crunch is involved to create the patches (“obligatory overtime” is being avoided). The company also claims it is working on getting the game into a position where it can return to the PlayStation Store.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 physically. It is also available digitally and physically on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. People can get a digital copy via Google Stadia. The Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X next-gen update will arrive in the latter half of 2021.
