Koei Tecmo has published new Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires digest videos on the game’s Japanese official website that show different gameplay aspects. While the videos lack any audio, they do give a sneak peek of the flow of the full game.
The first video on the page showcases the Character Creation system. Players can make detailed modifications to their own characters’ heads, faces, and attires. Meanwhile, the second one focuses on relationships between characters. The player character can have up to three Sworn Siblings of any gender. They can also get married to a spouse of different gender, who will produce a child after completing the playthrough.
The third and fourth videos show the political and battle phases. Both of them will form the core gameplay system in Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires. In the political phase, officers will improve the region’s infrastructure while building an army. Factions can then wage wars by invading other territories. The game’s battle system will focus on castle sieges, with both sides launching stratagems and secret plans.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Japan and East Asia will get the game on December 23, 2021. Koei Tecmo will bring it to the West later on February 15, 2022. Players can get a free demo on consoles to prepare custom characters and later import them to the full game.
