Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward To Add Job-Specific Limit Breaks

Recommended Videos

Patch 2.45 for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will go live on December 9th, Square Enix revealed in a “Letter From the Producer” Q&A conducted this past weekend.

Among other features, patch 2.45 will make changes to Final Fantasy XIV’s Dragoon job, in order to make it more capable of handling end-game content, both in terms of offense and defense. More information on these changes can be found in this thread.

The development team also revealed during the Q&A that they plan on implementing job-specific limit breaks in the upcoming Heavensward expansion for the game. No further details were provided on this front, but here’s a brief summary of what was stated, provided by Matt “Bayohne” Hilton of the FFXIV community team:

We are currently talking about implementing job-specific limit breaks in the upcoming expansion. It may be difficult to prepare three different limit breaks per job so we have decided to adjust the level 3 limit break used by each job. As an additional note, we are currently working on creating a new limit break for dragoon!

Additionally, we are planning to launch new benchmark software for the expansion and you will be able to see the new limit break then. Furthermore, the limit break of bards will no longer be the same as the limit breaks for healers. Please look forward to it!

Square Enix plan to discuss more upcoming features for Final Fantasy XIV at the upcoming fan event for the game in Tokyo. This will take place on the 20th and 21st of December.
