A handful of questions were asked in this 23 minute interview. Kitase talked briefly about his favorite FPS games and favorite music from the Final Fantasy franchise first. Then, Kitase shared his feelings about becoming the director for Final Fantasy VII. He briefly detailed the development of the title, such as the theme of the game revolving around the life cycle.

Most notably, Omega asked about the Parasite Eve series. When asked if he would like to see more Parasite Eve in the future, Kitase responded by saying, “I don’t know of any plans right now, but it would be a waste not to use these characters.” Last year a trademark for Parasite Eve was filed in the UK, but nothing related to the franchise has surfaced since.

The video interview has English subtitles, so you don’t need to know Japanese to check it out. You can watch it below.

If you’re looking for more information regarding the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake, director Tetsuya Nomura recently took part in an interview with Famitsu. In this interview, Nomura discussed the process of making something enjoyable for both new and old fans.

A free demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake is available to download on the PlayStation Store. This trial covers the first chapter of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Several difficulty levels are available, and two different types of gameplay styles are also available for players to try when using Cloud.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020.  You can also check out more on the Summons, characters, and gameplay details here.
