Love Live! Sunshine!! Characters to Perform at New Year’s Eve Concert

Love Live! Sunshine!!

Aqours from Love Live! Sunshine!! will be performing in a live-streamed concert called “Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours COUNTDOWN LoveLive! ~WHITE ISLAND~” in celebration of the upcoming new year. This is according to an announcement posted to the Love Live! Sunshine!!’s official website. [Thanks, Crunchyroll!]

Aqours is an idol group consisting of nine women that debuted in anime and video games. In addition to the aforementioned anime, they can be found in mobile games like Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars and Love Live! School Idol Festival. Like many other multimedia idol groups, the voice actor unit from the show performs across different entries of the series, including in live events. Aqours is portrayed by Anju Inami, Shuka Saitō, Rikako Aida, Nanaka Suwa, Aina Suzuki, Arisa Komiya, Kanako Takatsuki, Ai Furihata, and Aika Kobayashi.

A deal that took effect on May 5, 2020 made batches of different NIS America anime, like Love Live! School Idol Project” and “Love Live! The School Idol Project Movie,”  available to stream on the service. Love Live! Sunshine!! is also available there as well as on Crunchyroll.

A similar live idol event occurred in October at NHK World-Japan’s presentation of the “Songs for Tokyo Festival 2020” where characters from five different Idolmaster brands gathered to perform together for the first time.

The live-stream will occur on December 30 and December 31, 2020. The second day of the event will be the Love Live! franchise’s first New Year’s Eve countdown concert. Ticket for a single day are available for 5,555 yen. Customers can also purchase a ticket that covers the entire duration of the event for 9,999 yen. This converts to approximately $53.40 and $96.00 respectively. Portions of the opening segment of both shows will be streamed for free.
