New Pokemon Snap merchandise

Merchandise Celebrating New Pokémon Snap Release Announced

The Pokémon Company will release a new line of merchandise to commemorate the upcoming release of New Pokémon Snap. Both the game and the merchandise will be available on April 30, 2021. However, though the game will release worldwide, the merchandise will, for the time being, only be available in Japan.

The merchandise all draw from the “photography” theme to match New Pokémon Snap. The magnets, for example, all look like photos that someone took of the Pokémon going about their daily lives, and the A4 clear folder looks like it’s a photo album. The masking tape also resembles a film reel. Some of the Pokémon featured in this goods line include Pyukumuku, Quagsire, Sobble, Pichu, and Bidoof.

The line of goods is as followed:

  • Framed magnets (770 JPY each, 8 types)
  • Masking tape (660 JPY, comes with 2)
  • A4 3-pocket clear folder (396 JPY)
  • Photo album notebook (880 JPY)
  • Plastic stickers (550 JPY)
  • Jigsaw puzzle (2640 JPY)
  • Reflector mascot keychain – Pichu, Scorbunny, Grookey (660 JPY)
  • Reflector mascot keychain – Meganium (660 JPY)

Other recent Pokémon merchandise lines that came out recently include the Ball Freak series and the Sweet Scent series.

In New Pokémon Snap, players will explore the Lental region and, instead of catching Pokémon with Poké Balls, they will take pictures of them to build a Photodex. You can edit your pictures by adding stickers, frames, and filters, and then upload them online. The game is based on Pokémon Snap, which originally came out in 1999 on the Nintendo 64.

New Pokémon Snap will release worldwide on April 30, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. The New Pokémon Snap merchandise line will also come out on April 30.
