Unfortunately, we didn’t get any details for gameplay, but the video revealed that Bandai Namco is developing the game. The Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara said in the presentation Pokemon Snap will come to Nintendo Switch in a “whole new way” with this title.

The first Pokemon Snap was developed by HAL Laboratory and released for the Nintendo 64 in Japan in March 1999. The spinoff title was actually the first Pokemon game to release on home console, as it released a month prior to the very first Pokemon Stadium in Japan. It featured professional Pokemon photographer Todd Snap as the protagonist who was hired by Professor Oak to go to Pokemon Island and take pictures of Wild Pokemon.

New Pokemon Snap is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch. A release window was not announced for the game. In other Pokemon news from the presentation, a new Zeraora raid started today in Pokemon Sword and Shield. A Tsum Tsum-like puzzle game, Pokemon Cafe Mix, was announced for the Nintendo Switch and smartphones. The Pokemon Company also announced that the next Pokemon Presents will take place on June 24, 2020.
