Square Enix announced a launch date for the FFXIV same-region player matching for players in North America and Europe data center worlds. It will start there on November 10, 2026, once the maintenance for patch 7.58 is done. Once it happens, anyone on the same physical data center can match and recruit with anyone else on that same data center. This follows the feature debuting for folks in Japan in patch 7.57.
As a reminder, FFXIV same-region player matching means that people on a physical data center can play with all other folks in worlds on that same region’s logical data centers. The change will apply to Cross-world Linkshells, Crystalline Conflict Ranked Matches, Duty Finder, Fellowships, Party Finder, and PvP teams. Free Companies will allow chats with people from all worlds in that data center. You will also be able to see Party Invites and Tells from folks in the same physical data center.
So in North America, this applies to everyone on the logical data centers Aether, Crystal, Dynamis, and Primal. Each of those has eight worlds. In Europe, it applies to Chaos and Light. Those also each have eight worlds.
Oceania is the only region to not have same-region player matching. However, this is because it only has the logical data center Materia with the worlds Bismark, Ravana, Sephirot, Sophia, and Zurvan.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and same-region player matching will come to North America and Europe in patch 7.58 on November 10, 2026. FFXIV Evercold will also debut on February 23, 2027. There will be an early access phase for that expansion that will begin on February 19, 2027 for those who qualify due to certain edition purchases.
