Last week, Namco Bandai released One Piece Romance Dawn: Adventure at Daybreak, a role-playing game based on the One Piece manga series, for the PSP. The game sold 167,103 copies during its opening week.

Sales tracker, Media Create, mention in their weekly report that One Piece Romance Dawn sold through 70.51% of its initial shipment. They also add that the game likely attracted far more fans of the original One Piece manga and anime series than previous games like the One Piece: Gigant Battle and Unlimited Cruise series.

This is due to the fact that Romance Dawn lets you play through the original story (at least up until the end of the Marineford arc) in a fair bit of detail. The game also has 30 minutes of animation included, redrawn by Toei Animation, who produced the One Piece anime series.
