Niantic announced little bit of New Pokemon Snap will appear in Pokemon GO to celebrate the new game. One day before people will take pictures on their Switch, they’ll get a chance to start taking them on their mobile devices. It will also introduce shiny Smeargles to Pokemon GO.

A big part of the event involves calling attention to the creatures and mechanics featured in New Pokemon Snap’s Lental region. Raids will have Meganium, Trapinch,a nd Vaporeon, while people will see Cacnea, Ducklett, and Lotad more often. People will be able to get a camera avatar for their avatars to wear. You can also buy camera stickers with coins. As for the Field and Timed Research, they’ll ask you to go into the AR mode for photos of Pokemon around you.

With the Shiny Smeargle, you’ll have to take advantage of Pokemon GO AR photography. It’ll be photo-bombing your pictures of other Pokemon. If you take a photo and one appears, it will appear immediately in front of you to catch once you exit the snapshot screen. There is then a chance that it will be a shiny one.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. New Pokemon Snap will appear on the Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2021. The Pokemon GO New Pokemon Snap event will run between April 29, 2021 and May 2, 2021.
