Nintendo set a release date for the first Pokemon Pokopia underwater Bubbly Basin DLC that adds a new area and reasons to Dive underwater to the game. It will launch on the Switch 2 on August 5, 2026. It is the first part of the expansion pass, and the second will be out before 2026 ends. The 2.0.0 patch will show up for everyone that same day the add-on launches, adding the Pokemon Manaphy and ability to Dive for everyone.
The new trailer for Pokemon Pokopia Bubbly Basin showed what the DLC will look like and how it works. It will focus on aquatic characters and building. We’ll need to help restore the new area and get more Pokemon to return to it, with characters like Totodile, Popplio, Mudkip, Corsola, and Corphish able to show up via new habitats. It will also mean using Surf to reach new areas, with smoothie recipes consisting of the new crop watermelon as an ingredient to power it up. There will also be a new Sharpedo Submarine to build and decorate. Some of the new block types will also feature varying degrees of buoyancy.
Here’s the full trailer. At the 6:20 minute mark, a teaser for the second DLC appeared. That showed Snubbull and mentioned accessories will be added as new customization options for both Pokemon like Snubbull and Peakychu and Ditto.
Before this update, we did get to experience another activity with an existing in-game Pokemon. Zorua’s Hide-and-Sneak event showed up in July 2026. That let us earn a trophy for playing hide and seek.
Pokemon Pokopia is available for the Switch 2, its Zorua’s Hide-and-Sneak Contest event runs July 19-27, 2026, and the Bubbly Basin DLC arrives on August 5, 2026. There will be three add-ons for the game total.
