The obelisk for the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Part 2 War Arc will light up once you go through a full Part 1 Heroic Games route, allowing someone the option to play through that portion of the story as one of the four heroes or skip through to get an army you can use in the third and final portion of the game. However, someone might wonder if they should skip. Is it truly necessary? Is that part of the story important? While I don’t recommend skipping any Part 1 routes if you have the time, I feel differently about Part 2.
Here’s the thing. The War Arc is the shortest part of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. It’s quite straightforward, and sees us learning about what happened in Dagda between the events of the first and third portions of the game. There isn’t the whole “explore Dagsion” or “take on sidequests” portion. Shopping isn’t even a thing anymore, as you’ll get items and class advancement items automatically doled out between battles to use in the hub. There are just some really fun fights and narrative development. Both of which are important!
So my recommendation is to take the character you have that has the largest number of recruited allies and follow them through the War Arc once. See what happens firsthand. Develop them. Especially since the quality of life features there allow you to use Training Drills to get everyone up to about the same general level, Group Drills let you bolster everyone’s skill stats and acquire some new abilities, and Group Service let you build up Blessing levels with the gods to unlock new Blessing Effect tiers. All of that is stuff that will carry over to the third part, and you will need that extra help there.
Once you’ve done that once, you’re set. For your other three characters, go ahead and choose to skip Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Part 2 and avoid the War Arc. If you need a reminder of what happened with details about the part that specific individual played, you’ll get to read and see a quick summary from Saint Cichol going over the events. Your characters from that route will automatically be developed and that individual will be marked as “cleared” and available fully in the third part. You’ll also be able to return to that and replay it as that character later, if you so choose.
