Steam Golden Week 2021 Sale Cuts Prices on Japanese Hits

Golden Week, one of Japan’s longest holiday periods, is under way, and game storefronts are ensuring players stuck at home have plenty to choose from. That includes the Steam Golden Week 2021 Sale, which is cutting prices on a large selection of Japanese PC games for the duration.

Though for many years known as a country dominated by console gaming, PC games have achieved new prominence in Japan in recent years, as Japanese publishers recognize the value of catering to the PC gaming audience in a timely manner. Nowadays major titles like NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… are receiving near or simultaneous deployment with their console editions, and prominent, once console-exclusive series like Kingdom Hearts also getting retroactive releases. Steam and other PC storefronts are also becoming a haven for smaller games like visual novels, adventure titles, and small-scale games that might otherwise be buried on the consoles or mobile marketplaces. The Steam Golden Week 2021 Sale reflects that increasing diversity, a mix of new, old, major, and minor games up for grabs.

We’ve combed through the offerings for some of the most notable deals and have a few of them listed below. Check out the Steam Golden Week 2021 Sale page for more deals and full details.
