STEVEN, Creator Of The Demon Summoning Program, Is Back In SMTIV

STEVEN is back in Shin Megami Tensei IV. We’ve seen Atlus mention him before, but today they updated the game’s website with a new video of him. STEVEN, as you may know, developed the Demon Summoning Program seen in the Shin Megami Tensei games. He occasionally appears before you in IV to drop useful hints.

Note that, despite STEVEN’s return, Shin Megami Tensei IV is not connected to any of the previous games story-wise. Atlus have said, however, that they’re dropping little references to the previous games for fans to pick up on.

Another example of this is the Black Samurai, who wears a Demonica suit similar to the ones in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. She, too, provides the player with cryptic clues. Perhaps she and STEVEN are both part of the neutral alignment? They’re even featured in the same section on the website, under “mysterious characters”.
