The Fate/Grand Order Sanzang Event Gets a Rerun on April 10

Sanzang

Fate/Grand Order players might still be busy catching up to the first chapter of Cosmos in the Lostbelt, but the event schedule shall not be denied. The next item on the docket for the hit mobile game is a rerun of an event from May 2018. Its official title is “Sanzang Coming to the West: Revival Lite.”

As before, Fate/Grand Order players will team up with the Caster-class Servant Xuanzang Sanzang as she makes her way west through perilous landscapes. Fate Grand Order‘s Sanzang is an amalgam of the 6th-century Buddhist monk Xuanzang and the fictional character Tang Sanzang. Accounts of Xuanzang’s 17-year voyage to India inspired the creation of Journey to the West, the legendary Chinese novel. The Fate incarnation of Sanzang is an adventure-loving woman who fights with the weapons from her companions Son Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing. Her Noble Phantasm and those of other Servants from the event can be previewed below:

As for the event itself, Sanzang Coming to the West is a farming-style grind for various forms of currency which can be used to buy materials and goodies out of the event shop. Chinese and Indian Servants, such as the Caster of the Nightless City, Arjuna, Zhuge Liang, Jing Ke, and Lu Bu will offer bonuses to drops when used in the party. As a rerun, drop rates also be will be retuned to make the grind easier. In the case of the global server, though, the original 2018 incarnation of Sanzang Coming to the West already incorporated some changes from the Japanese rerun to reduce the grind. Any changes made for the 2020 edition will likely ease the grind even further.

Accompanying the rerun will be a limited summoning banner featuring Sanzang herself, as well as Zhuge Liang (aka Waver), one of the most popular and useful support units in the whole game. Masters without their own Zhuge Liang may want to consider a roll or two.

The Fate/Grand Order Sanzang Coming to the West rerun will open on April 10, 2020 and last until April 20th. Fate/Grand Order is available on iOS and Android devices.
