During the gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live stream, we ended up getting the release date for a The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered release ahead of the Songs of the Past DLC expansion. The add-on, which we learned was in the works back in May 2026, will appear in 2027, but the remaster will be out on September 29, 2026. That update will be free for folks with an existing copy and will include free access to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The latest reveal also offered an opportunity to see more of what both the old and new adventure will look like.
First, here’s the trailer for The Witcher 3 Remastered and its additions. In addition to the visual updates, there will be adjustments to the Skill Tree and combat. That also means new Finishers to use in fights.
As already established, Songs of the Past is an expansion that’s designed to act as The Witcher 3 DLC that paves the way for The Witcher 4. It still stars Geralt of Rivia. The gamescom ONL trailer focused on showing off him facing some new foes in new-to-us locations in an area that seems to be called Latin.

People actually at the event in Germany will get to see the game and expansion at the CD Projekt RED booth. However, The Witcher 4 won’t be at the show this year.
The Witcher 3 Remastered will be on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on September 29, 2026. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Songs of the Past expansion will launch in 2027.
