Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy sold approximately 67-70k copies upon release in Japan last week, but reports of the game selling out everywhere were accurate. ASCII Media Works report that Theatrhythm sold through 90% of its shipment, which means Square Enix definitely shipped too few copies to meet demand.

Another shipment of Theatrhythm is expected on February 25th, and Amazon.jp, too, will receive new stock by March 1st. It should be interesting to see how well the game holds up in sales over the coming weeks. Theatrhythm certainly has the potential to be a long-term seller.

New LovePlus, too, seems to have done fairly well, in terms of how much of its shipment it sold through. ASCII’s numbers for New LovePlus are slightly lower than our usual tracker, Media-Create’s numbers, but they report that the game sold 60% of its shipment in its first week.

The LovePlus games, too, have a habit of selling consistently over a long period of time, so this is another title to keep an eye on in the weeks to come.
