Amidst a slow week in Japan, recent game releases had a chance to keep the spotlight to themselves a little longer. Shin Megami Tensei IV sold another 30,000 copies for the week, now at nearly 219,000 sold. The next few weeks should be interesting to see how the game holds up over time.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil: Revelations is at 135,000 sold on PlayStation 3, behind Kamen Rider Battride War’s 149,000. On the new release slate was Cave’s Dodonpachi Saidaioujou, which sold 9,300 copies for the week.

As an aside, the budget re-release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is still selling a few copies each week, with total sales of the game exceeding Capcom’s initial forecasts. Capcom have also begun airing TV commercials for Monster Hunter 4 in Japan, and recently announced that they hope to sell 2.8 million copies of the game by March 31st, 2014. The game is slated for release on September 14th.
