<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week was the week a lot of PlayStation Vita owners have been looking forward to this past year—the week of the release of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f, the latest in Sega’s series of rhythm games starring the ever-popular Vocaloids.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f sold 159,592 copies in its first week. That’s a good number by itself, but the game has failed to outdo both Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd and Project Diva Extend’s launch numbers. This is worth discussing further, and we’ll have a separate report on Project Diva f’s performance in just a couple of hours, so look out for that.

Thanks to Project Diva f, PlayStation Vita sales hit 50,086 for the week. We’ll probably see that number go back down in the weeks to come, although it remains to be seen if it will settle at a slightly better weekly average than before.

Meanwhile, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers opened with sales of 69,365 copies. That’s pretty good for an updated port of a Sega Saturn game. It even managed to outdo Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor’s opening numbers. That game sold 55,466 copies in its first week in 2009 on the Nintendo DS.

Also in 3DS news, Senran Kagura Burst: Crimson Girls is another success story. The original Senran Kagura: Portrait of Girls sold 52,206 copies in its first week. Burst has managed to outdo that number, opening at 69,084 copies, making this another feather in Marvelous AQL’s cap.
