Last week was another slow week for new releases in Japan, with hardware sales dropping across the board. A strong line-up managed to keep Nintendo 3DS sales healthy at close to 47,000 units, but everything else dropped below the 15k mark.

Meanwhile, the top-20 software chart was comprised primarily of a mix of popular sellers and recent releases. The only new game in the top-20 was FuRyu’s Cardfight!! Vanguard: Ride to Victory, which sold 44,538 copies in its first week.

Next week’s sales chart should be a little more exciting. We’ll see first-week sales for Nintendo’s Tomodachi Collection: New Life, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Frontier G, Sega’s 7th Dragon 2020-II and Namco Bandai’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3.
