<< How to read and understand sales

Last week, Square Enix released a remake of Dragon Quest Monsters 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game didn’t do much to boost Nintendo 3DS hardware sales, but it did sell itself, moving 443,656 copies in its first week.

Meanwhile, Sega’s Puyo Puyo Tetris was released last week, too, and sold nearly 45,000 copies on 3DS, and another 19,000 copies across PS3 and Vita combined.

Finally, Spike Chunsoft released indie game Terraria for Vita last week, and it sold 15,070 copies in its first week.

A few other points of interest:

  • Attack on Titan is close to breaking 250,000 copies sold at retail
  • Youkai Watch has now sold over 400,000 copies
  • Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 700,000 copies
