Muramasa Rebirth has a new trailer courtesy of Aksys Games.
Marvelous AQL seems to be having a successful run with the PlayStation Vita. Soul Sacrifice, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, and the vivid port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade have all sold fairly well in Japan.
Last week, Nintendo released Tomodachi Collection: New Life in Japan, which was the best-selling game for the week.
Last week was another slow week for new releases in Japan, with sales dropping across the board.
Aksys Games have officially announced their limited edition of Muramasa Rebirth.
Siliconera put together a screen-by-screen comparison of Aksys localization for Muramasa Rebirth compared to the dry translation of the original game.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon managed to hold on to the #1 spot last week. At #2 was Marvelous AQL’s Fate/Extra CCC, which finally saw release following multiple delays.
The limited edition includes a custom Vita face cover, PS Vita skin with art from the game, a drawstring pouch to keep your Vita clean, and a Muramasa lithograph drawn by George Kamitani from Vanillaware.
Muramasa Rebirth has downloadable characters like a Nekomata and a farmer inspired by Harvest Moon. All of these extra characters have a different play style and they’re exclusive to the Vita version.
I started by playing the second boss fight where Momohime clashes with a flaming wheel. The graphics are indeed more vivid in the PlayStation Vita version, but the boss fight was the same.
Unsurprisingly, while Muramasa was in development, Marvelous were concerned that it wouldn’t be an easy sell in the West.
Muramasa Rebirth a new localization plus downloadable characters like the Nekomata that each have their own storyline. Siliconera met with producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto from Marvelous AQL who explained what these new characters are like.
