Here’s the Extended Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Gameplay Trailer

When it came to Sony’s offerings for gamescom 2020, we were only promised one thing ahead of the event. Geoff Keighley and Insomniac said a Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart gameplay trailer would appear. However, it wouldn’t be all new. It’d just be an extended look at the same footage that appeared at the June 2020 PlayStation 5 showcase. We also received a better idea of when it will appear, as it was described as a “PlayStation 5 launch window” game.

At the very least, Insomniac did deliver. We got to see more of Nefarious and the Dimensionator device he was using to create rifts and problems. There was also a lot more dialogue between Ratchet and Clank, getting into the predicament the duo is facing in the new game. We also got a chance to see the other new Lombax character again.

Here’s the almost eight minute video looking at Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart gameplay.

After the gameplay trailer, Insomniac Gae Director Mike Daly talked about DualSense capabilities. Different weapons will feel different. For example, he mentioned the Enforcer, a double-barrel shotgun. You can pull until you feel resistance on the trigger to release one shot. If you see a really big foe, you can press even further to fire two shots.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, is currently in development, and will be a “launch window” game. This is an extension of Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus.
