Konami will hold Castlevania NFT auctions

Konami Will Hold NFT Auctions of Castlevania Art and Music

Konami will hold auctions of NFT art and music for Castlevania. The company opened a new Konami Memorial NFT webpage detailing the auctions, which is also available in English. It will hold the auctions simultaneously worldwide from January 12 to January 14, 2022, based on North American time zones.

The auction will consist of the main visual art of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, and BGMs and videos from the first three mainline games released on the NES. Only one copy of each item will be available. On the webpage’s Q&A segment, Konami noted that it would not sell the same NFT in the future. The company will allow resells and transfers of the NFTs to other platforms, though it will not take responsibility for such activities.

In November 2021, Konami published a statement expressing its interest in the NFT market. The upcoming Castlevania NFT auctions will mark the company’s official entry. Konami is not the only major Japanese company interested in NFTs. Square Enix and Sega also announced plans to enter the market.

Konami also announced that the auctions will be part of celebrating Castlevania‘s 35th anniversary, since it released the first game in September 1986. During its anniversary month in September 2021, Konami released the Castlevania Advance Collection on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It then released a soundtrack collection of the series in December 2021.

Konami’s Castlevania NFT auctions will take place on January 12-14, 2022.
