There will soon be a new language option for people watching Sword Art Online anime. Funimation announced it will begin offering English Sword Art Online Alicization dubbed episodes on August 1, 2020.
The first round of the Sword Art Online Alicization dub will include the first 12 episodes of the series. Funimation currently offers episodes 1-24 of Alicization in Japanese.
The company didn’t offer a release window for when the next 12 could appear. Also, the series is still airing in Japan and, as of the Alicization War of the Underworld portion, has hit 39 episodes. (Episode 40 will air in Japan on August 1, 2020.)
As for the gaming side of things, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is based upon this latest part of the series’ saga. It covers the Human Realm Arc storyline in Underworld, while also adding new content. For example, there’s a whole new character called Medina Orthinanos who has her own storyline. It also will be getting updates that will do things like improve the game and add ReoNa, who is known for contributing theme songs for the series, to the game as a playable party member.
Sword Art Online Alicization is currently running in Japan, and Funimation will offer its first 12 English dub episodes on August 1, 2020. Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
