Rean’s been a student. He’s been a hero. Now, in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III, the third game chronicles as he comes to terms with being a notable figure and learning how to be a teacher, all while dealing with new threats.

The narrative decisions in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III mean players get to spend a lot of time getting to know (and perhaps even love) the new characters who are joining a roster of lots (and lots) of familiar faces.

Ys IX releases tomorrow in Japan and the latest issue of Dengeki has a lot of story spoilers, but Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo did share some tidbits on the Ys and Trails series moving forward.

A PlayStation Plus The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III preorder promotion is in effect that lowers the price of the standard and digital deluxe editions and provides some extra cosmetic DLC.

Siliconera interviewed Nihon Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo to learn more about Rean’s character arc, his contributions to each game, the build up to Trails of Cold Steel, and his getting to be “the first person in the world to play a new Trails of game.”

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III was expected to release in the West later in September but it has been delayed by a little over a month to later in October for North America and Europe.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III release date for North America is September 24, 2019, followed by a September 27, 2019 release date for Europe.

Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo recently shared an updated sales number for the Trails series as well as its latest for Trails of Cold Steel in the company’s 2nd quarter financial results briefing.

Falcom announced that they are teaming up with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring the entire Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series’ four titles on PS4 to China and South Korea.
