<< How to read and understand sales

Last week, Nintendo released Fire Emblem Fates in Japan, and between all versions—the Birthright and Conquest versions, as well as the limited edition that contains both—the RPG sold 303,666 copies in its first week.

By comparison, Fire Emblem: Awakening sold 242,600 copies in its first week, so one can surmise that game did its job and created more dedicated fans that were willing to pick Fates up at launch. Over the next few weeks, we’ll get to see how Fire Emblem Fates’ sales hold up beyond launch.

Also released last week was Persona 4: Dancing All Night, a rhythm game spin-off of Persona 4 for the PlayStation Vita. This game sold 94,036 copies at launch.
