<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week, Arc System Works released BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma for the PlayStation 3. The game sold over 72,000 copies in its first week, debuting at the #3 spot on the top-20 software sales chart. Here’s how that compares to previous first-week sales in the series:

    (2009) BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger – 33,768 (PS3) | 24,812 (360)

    (2010) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift – 49,871 (PS3)

    (2011) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend – 32,992 (PS3) | 4,766 (360)

As you can see, BlazBlue has grown over the past few years, but hasn’t really broken out of its niche quite yet.

Also released last week was Konami’s PowerPros Baseball 2013 on all three PlayStation platforms. Finally, Sega released Sonic Lost World, which sold an underwhelming 5,000 copies on 3DS. Meanwhile, the Wii U version of the game didn’t chart at all.
